Olympic Occupation

Thousands of troops on the streets, due to the failure of the contracting out of this service.

And, with neither a war nor a state of emergency declared, missiles stationed on people's roofs, as it turns out the Ministry of Defence is perfectly entitled to do without even having to tell the residents.

All so that the deeply dodgy members and hangers-on of the International Olympic Committee can speed down their specially reserved road lanes, like the Soviet Politburo of old.

What will be the excuse for retaining these arrangements once the Olympics were over? For, be in no doubt, there will be one.
