Dirty Wars

As if there could be any other kind.

Henry Kissinger's famous line about the Iran-Iraq War, "It's a pity that only one of them can lose", almost always applies.

The Argentine junta and those seeking to turn Argentina into a satellite of the Soviet Union. Khomeini and Saddam. The Ba'ath Party and the people whom it was holding off in Iraq. The Ba'ath Party and the people whom it is holding off in Syria. Gaddafi and those who rose to overthrow him. Mubarak and those who rose to overthrow him. Ahmadinejad and either the PMOI/MEK or Jundullah. The present regime in Mali and the insurrection against it. "The Taliban" and their enemies. Ian Smith and Robert Mugabe. The National Party and the ANC. Hitler and Stalin.
