I do hope
that there will be some sensitivity as to who is sent to the funeral as
this British Government's representative. A member of the Royal Family will represent the nation.
But for the Government, it looks like a Lib Dem, doesn't it? I
mean, that 1980s generation of the other lot ... it could be awfully
embarrassing for all concerned.
It
would not take long to dredge up utterances or photographs from those days. Send Nick
Clegg, instead. He had to come in handy eventually, and this seems to be
that event.
They were, of course, right about the ANC in the 80's-when it was a Soviet sect.
ReplyDeleteIf you mean the people who wore "Hang Mandela" T-shirts then, if you knew anything about Mandela, you'd know that he would want them at his funeral.
When he renounced violence, forgiveness of his enemies was one of his redeeming qualities.
Well, it looks as if they are going to be there.
