The Budget

The Government's solution to Fixed Odds Betting Terminals is to become a profiteer from them, as Tom Watson has already pointed out.

But apart from that, the Budget is not worth discussing.

Yesterday's polls projected an overall majority of 104 for the man whom we are all supposed not to want as Prime Minister.

Tomorrow's polls will still show a comfortable Labour lead, and nothing approaching the 10-point lead that the Conservatives would need for an overall majority of one.

Nothing to see here.

Move along.

  1. Things ALWAYS swing drastically far back towards an incumbent government before ANY AND EVERY general election- WHY would 2015 be any different/

  2. Not to anything like the necessary extent. Labour has now been ahead in every poll for years, and would in any case have a comfortable majority with a one-point lead on the day.
