A Public Good, A Social Right

Only three of these seven ever went to university, and only one of those went straight from school. So much for "no working-class MPs these days". None invited onto television, yes. But they are there, all right.

With my two Durham degrees, the concern of figures such as these for this issue has made me care about it far more than I usually do. I tend to be more concerned about the other 50 per cent of each age cohort.

But if this is not too bourgeois a concern for Frank Doran, Ronnie Campbell, Brian Donohoe, John McDonnell, George Mudie (retiring, admittedly), Katy Clark, or the 2010 intake's Ian Lavery, then it is certainly not too bourgeois a concern for me.
