Pat Glass's heavily Lanchester and Burnhope list, including being proposed by Ossie Johnson and seconded by Alan Gibson, will do me.
The Tory ("address in the Wokingham Constituency") has more assentors than she will get votes, although at least she has stopped pretending that she lives in Shotley Bridge.
The Independent Councillors are notable by their absence from anyone's nomination papers. Of course, they know who is going to win very comfortably indeed this time.

ReplyDeleteThe beneficiary of my first ever vote, in a District Council by-election when I was 18. A District or County Councillor here ever since, coming up to 20 years.
DeleteSubsequently my Parish Council colleague, mostly with him in the Chair, for 14 years, and my colleague on a school governing body for eight of them.
A very great man, indeed.
Remember, no all-women short list this time. Anybody could have put up against Pat for the Labour nomination, nobody did, all branches re-nominated her unopposed.

ReplyDeleteNo striplings of 38 were welcome by the looks of things. Ossie himself must be 70, the youngest people on this list are around 50, Colin Burton can't be far off 90.

You'll still be too ill when she retires and you'll probably be too old, but still younger than she was when she got in. Are you already grooming the next generation's most David Lindsay candidate who is not David Lindsay?
