Parish Notice

After Neil Fleming and his lady companion had turned up at Midnight Mass in Lanchester, I complained in writing to Iain McNicol, the General Secretary of the Labour Party, about that racially aggravated and disability-based harassment of me. Merry Christmas.

They did not come back until yesterday.

But yesterday, they did come back. It would be instructive to know where else they were now turning up around the place. One or both of them is obviously angling for a County Council nomination in this ward.

So what, you may say? They are never going to deselect the Labour legend, Ossie Johnson, while he and the Independent, Richie Young, will observe custom and practice by each taking more votes than all the unelected candidates put together, including one or the other of Brad and Janet.

Would that that were true.

But their long record as ballot box poison is such that the presence of either of them on the ticket is the one thing that could conceivably take down even Ossie with them. After all, Fleming took down with him even Colin Burton, who had previously topped the poll.

Nothing about the recent showing in the Labour North area entitles its apparatchiki to be treated as anything other than untouchable in quite a different way from that to which they are accustomed. It is time for cetain people, despite what are now their advancing years, to live up to their reputations.

    1. Well, there really is no answer to that. Apart from, "On topic, please."

  2. I wondered whether to report or not a sighting, but I should have known that you would be aware of what's going on. You have always been bang on the pulse in Lanchester and would have surely sat on Derwentside District Council had you had the opportunity.

She who must not be named was seen was shopping in Spar, making sure she spoke to every customer and all the staff. A bit obvious, really.

    1. Hilary? If you mean Pat, then so much the better. She's marvellous. I can't imagine Hilary in a supermarket.

    3. Ah.

Well, next to none one here will have known who she was. They probably thought that she was just a nutter.
