Glass Warrior

At the General Election hustings in Lanchester, Pat Glass recounted how she had been all ready to resign as a Parliamentary Private Secretary, and from the chair if a Labour committee on Europe, if her party had come out for anything other than total opposition to any bombing of Syria in 2013.

We may therefore be confident in our expectation that Pat will vote against any proposal to bomb Syria in 2015, either.

  1. MPs vote in ANY of these issues not on Syria, but on Iraq. It is in their minds, they are terrified of public furore over a yes vote to bombing. It gives the terrorists an enormous power play, because they know UK Parliament will vote no.

They will do so not because of the rights and wrongs of Syria, but because of IRAQ. It is an easy, populist position.

So yes, you're probably right. I agree with the vote, but not the reasons it comes about.
