Save Donald Trump

By all means demonstrate against President Trump, provided that those demonstrations are at least organised and led by people who opposed Clinton, Bush and Obama, and who would have opposed the other Clinton.

And by all means defeat him at the ballot box in 2020, provided that he is defeated by a candidate who is soundly opposed to neoliberal economic policy and to neoconservative foreign policy.

But for precisely that reason, he must see out his term.

If Trump goes down, then so does any hope of any alternative to neoliberalism and to neoconservatism.

The same was true of the campaign against Jeremy Corbyn, and remains so insofar as that campaign is still being kept going by a few tortured souls.

For "anti-Semitism", "student debt" and "Venezuela" in Corbyn's case, see "Russia" in Trump's.

Although Trump has so far failed to deliver his promised turn away from austerity and war. Corbyn really would deliver that.

As must Trump's successor from 2020 onwards. But that will not happen unless Trump remains in office until then.
