Claire Kober wanted to demolish the homes of the poor and the black, as such, and she wanted to hand over great tracts of municipal activity to one giant multinational corporation.
But the people who have defeated her want to abolish Council Tax entirely for low-income families, extend free school meals to everyone in primary schools, set up a not-for-profit lettings agency in competition with the private sector, and increase the pay of care workers.
Apparently, that is now "Loony Left" and worse, while Kober's scheme was "moderate". Thank goodness that they won and she lost. This is a watershed moment. The terms of the debate have changed, and they have changed for the better.
