Ben Chu has it right. Water privatisation has been a disaster. If it is not this in the winter, then it is shortages in the summer. Had Labour won the 1979 General Election, then it was going to create a National Grid for water. Forward with that one to the next General Election. Better late than never.
There is another statistical tie in the polls today, so put me into the coming hung Parliament and I would see to this. It is such an obvious idea that it just needs someone to make the case for it, and to do so insistently, regardless of which party's Leader was the Prime Minister.
